Hmm. That's an idea.

So, might I put out a question?

First, to the boys, what do you find intimidating about the girls of Duel Academia? Is it their looks? Their decks? Their behavior? Could you go into detail? Without getting too specific. And try to avoid names.

Secondly, as to the girls, do you believe you come off as too cold? Too dominating? At the same time, do you feel the boys are being too submissive? Details as well, if possible, and avoid names and too much specifics.

And what do both of you believe could fix this?

People don't need to respond, and if you wish, you can post anonymously. But I'd like to see what people have to say.

I'd like to submit that guys aren't too submissive. Just either idiotic or just suicidal.

[identity profile] icarus-attack.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
....I know we're supposed to avoid names, but Shiroko's whip scares me.

'Sides that, I think I'm fine. Don't think there's any problem with a little submissiveness as long as its reciprocated sometime.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
... Why?

I've just heard that some boys feel the girls are too dominating.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know about the rest, but 'dominating' isn't how I'd word it.

"Stubborn", yes. "Prideful", probably.

"Crazy", sometimes.

[identity profile] icarus-attack.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
'Cause it hurts.

They're probably big whiny babies then. I doubt any of them have girlfriends either.

[identity profile] mechanikaiser.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure all the academy's 'guys' are just pussies.

[identity profile] icarus-attack.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Screw you, points!

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
How so?

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
And you don't have any problem with your own relationship?

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps the male students confuse those three things as dominating?

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Well, those could become dominating to someone who caves in... just look at Jinn.

[identity profile] icarus-attack.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
...

...nah. I'm fine.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yet he seems to relatively maintain his masculinity.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
...that's debatable.

He doesn't act like a eunuch all the time, no, but he's still very, very whipped, and not just around one girl.

[identity profile] mechanikaiser.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
I deal with crazy bitchy women all the time at my school. Things didn't change much when I got here.

Sure I wouldn't pursue a relationship with 'em but that ain't got nothin' to do with intimidation.

[identity profile] beastkingnaoma.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
I maintain it's not me being whipped if I want to do it.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
...

Okay, I suppose you've got me there.

Though, it does bring into question your... 'tastes'...

[identity profile] beastkingnaoma.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY TASTES?

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
...do I really have to say anything here?

[identity profile] beastkingnaoma.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
I would like clarification on what is wrong with my tastes yes.

[identity profile] pureplainpatron.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I hear rumors about chocolate and feet, or something.

I didn't really listen, for obvious reasons.

[identity profile] beastkingnaoma.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
...

I don't see how there's anything wrong with that.

As an adjunct, I only have a partial view of things...

I would, however, overall say that it's quite a bit of both. Mostly, however, the males of this academy - and hell, this city - need to be checked to see if spines need to be attached to them. I'm pretty sure that we could order a large number of ones made out of low-grade, surgery-cleaned-coated steel for pretty cheap.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Or I start mass shoving tentacles in people's heads.

Which I'd rather not do.

Erm, anyways!

Another recommendation, if we want to attain a more neutral gender balance at the Academy, is to switch from the current gender-blind, Equal-Opportunity policy for acceptance to an affirmative-action system meant to attain a tighter gender balance. Many organizations across campus are dominated by females by default of them being the ones handy to volunteer, which strengthens perceptions of the school being ruled by females.

Other alternatives could include introduction and/or reintroduction of traditionally male-heavy and masculine activities; a campus American Football team, for example, or even competitive riflery if we want to keep it open to both genders.

Sports and physically active lives, in general, offer immense benefits in the spinal region, both in the literal and figurative sense. I believe that the College already regularly offers this, and, while we aren't subject to standard Japanese public school regulations, a minimum number of physical education courses are mandatory for graduation in said regulations, and thus wouldn't be unusual to start mandating here, combined with a program expansion.

Re: [Private'd] [2/2]

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
And what would the Football team do?

Play Duel Football and end up in America playing the fastest man in the world, the president's son, an invincible gambler, an action movie star, and a giant Native American lead by a former Football Pro?

Also, I believe American Football tends to refuse girls, dear.

And I'm pretty sure, while a technical school, we still are obliged to follow certain course regulations. Despite the fact our school's owner is richer than God himself.

Also, I'm not the Headmaster nor the PE Teacher. That's Ms. Ayukawa.

You have to admit, if they ended up facing a top-notch American team, it would probably build some confidence in the males here. Or at least be more successful than many other methods, assuming we use no tentacles, miracle medications, cybertechnology, etc.

... Though I could probably develop Liquid Spine in a few days.

Re: [Private'd] [2/2]

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
There will be tentacles, miracle medications, cybertechnology etc.

... Liquid Spine. You moon people are odd.

Re: [Private'd] [2/2]

[identity profile] yagokoro-eirin.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
Given how casually you talk about tentacles en masse, and the status of the other professors on campus, let alone many students...

I am no longer certain how odd is 'odd', as it were.

I've been trying to stay sober from power. Taking over the world isn't in my interest at the moment or in the long term.

I'm fetish fuel.

You're just weird.

Re: [Private'd] [2/2]

[identity profile] yagokoro-eirin.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Trust me, let's not go into fetish fuel.

If we accept my reality, as I know it, as built by one Mister Kenta Ota, alias ZUN, my entire existence is basically defined by a specific list of kinks put together and wrapped into a reasonable character.

Nurse, white hair, high intelligence, medical experimentation, and being a domineering master for a bunny who is only useful for her sex appeal.

Oh, and of course, spell cards making mass amounts of pretty explosions.

[identity profile] magmaheart.livejournal.com 2009-05-25 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I ain't scared or intimidated or whatever of the girls here. Hell, after the girls back home, this ain't anything.

The guys here are just pussies, like everyone else has said.

[identity profile] becomeanwarrior.livejournal.com 2009-05-26 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Generally, I try not to be too intimidated by the girls in the Academy. There are a few who seem rather... off, in a way. I believe I've mentioned this to you before, at some point?

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-26 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
So you consider the girls to be normal?

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2009-05-26 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Off in what way.

Maybe. Don't remember myself, Mr. Faitayuu.

[identity profile] becomeanwarrior.livejournal.com 2009-05-26 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
..The best way I could describe it might be a... 'Crush men under my heel or die' attitude? Ones who are bound and determined to be completely dominant, to control every aspect of their other's lives...? Something along that line. It's something that's hard to describe, but easy to see, for me.

[identity profile] magmaheart.livejournal.com 2009-05-26 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, they ain't normal by any stretch of the imagination, but they ain't scary.
