[Thoughts]

1. Increase of interest in Pro Dueling. Is it due to the mass graduation coming up, or does it also have to do with the current recession has brought reality back on people's heads, making an escapist market more appealing? Projection that this will have a few years of fuel, but might dissipate.

However, entrance of sapient humanoid Duel Spirits might fuel this enough to keep going for a while, if only for the curiosity factor.

2. Notice development in Momentum research dried up with Divine's death. Possible the technology still fails to make sense to human science? Or did recession hit that too? Do expect when recession dries up, money will pour into the technology.

3. Despite the terrorist actions of that bomb, Duel Spirits still seem somewhat of a minority issue. Is it because they hide out of fear to us? Or is the number smaller than expected? Or are they hiding as humans still? Research probably needs to be concluded. Or am I just not seeing it mentioned as much as I'd expect because Duel Spirits have become mundane and boring, thus no one talks about them?

Also a reminder, I am available if anyone needs to speak to me.

'd put it more down t' th' graduation scheme an' all, m'self. I personally ain't int' th' pro-leagues-- if I wanna do professional duelin', 'm gonna do real professional tournaments an' th' sort.

Dunno anythin' 'bout this Momentum stuff, but who knows. Recession's an annoyin' thing.

I think we just got used t' monsters walkin' 'round, an' they're pushed t' th' side with everythin' else happenin'. Those attacks months ago on th' city sorta overshadowed th' monsters roamin', an' all.

Ah. The smaller Poker Tournament esque duels. I can see the logic of doing those. Though I expect they're probably very hard.

It's a perpetual energy machine, from what I understand.

... True. But are they just that common now, that they don't set people off?

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
I think everyone is just used to the spirits now and I think a lot of the spirits are showing that all they want to do is live out normal lives here. I gotta admit I was surprised there wasn't a bigger reaction from either side. I've done some work talking to people around the city and setting their minds at ease and such and making sure any spirits I've come across have been okay with everything... but mostly the atmosphere with it hasn't been half as bad as I thought it'd be.

I'm glad things seem to be working out for the better with that though!

[identity profile] 3-s33s-what.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but they pay off better in th' long run, an' they aren't, y'know. Inherently shameful.

I could see why that'd be more pricy than anyone could 'magine.

Well, 've seen Harpies nestin' 'round the city, pickin' up guys who are int' ladies in skimpy outfits an' large claws, so who knows.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps we have the benefit of Duel Monsters desensitizing the humans, or at least making the leap less difficult? I don't see any trouble in Domino itself. World at large is a different story, but that's the breaks.

Quite agreed. Despite my appearances and how I got to my current form, I'd prefer peace myself. And I hope it stays that way.

The worst shame you could get from the Pro Leagues is what. Being identified on American Gladiators?

I wouldn't know. You'd have to ask the government or the Arcadia Movement.

... Oh really?

[identity profile] 3-s33s-what.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
Either that or bein' shoved int' some stupid gimmick 'cause they don't think y'll go anywhere without it.

Hah, 'll pass.

Yeah. But th' thing is, by now, that's kinda averaged out. They've been 'round f' months by now-- it's old news t' really go an' make a fuss over 'em. And hey, some 'f th' stuff Duel Monsters have helps out. Sometimes.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
I repeat. American Gladiators.

... Such as?

[identity profile] 3-s33s-what.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
... Yeah, that's why 'd go f' professional tournaments.

There's this store 've gone t' a few times with plants that were helpin' out m' nightmares an' stress. They've got a bunch 'f Duel Monster plants, an' I 'xpect that th' stuff I got is based off 'f dimensions where monsters came from anyway.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Best of luck if you go into them.

Well, noone said Duel Spirits were bad. I'd just expect Japan to get more huffy about it.

[identity profile] normalnnameless.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
They could just be like me and realize after a point that freaking out about it isn't going to change anything, so it's better to just accept that they're here to stay.

Doesn't help that the troublemakers right now are apparently humans, not spirits.

[identity profile] 3-s33s-what.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
Too many odd things've happened 'ere, I think, f' anyone in at least Domino t' get huffy over it.

[identity profile] i-like-red.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
It's possible! I know some people I came across thought it was more cool that a favourite card of their's suddenly came to life or that monsters they were familiar with were suddenly roaming around.

Hm! I'll be making sure it stays this way!

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
... That is very true. Being a Spirit myself, technically, I think it's a bit hard to see why I'm not being targeted at times.

Hopefully this peace will last.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
I can only hope others follow your example and stick to it.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
... Which makes me wonder about Tokyo.

[identity profile] 3-s33s-what.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
Who knows, I don't go t' Tokyo a lot.

But if there were a really big fuss over it, then th' news would end up reportin' it. An' it would've been done months ago.

[identity profile] normalnnameless.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
... It's really not that hard to see why.

That's something we can all agree on.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
Trust me. Quite well aware, Mr. ... Nameless, is it?

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose. Still... I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop.

[identity profile] 3-s33s-what.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:12 am (UTC)(link)
Chances are, it probably won't 'less if people actually do go an' make a fuss over it. An' everythin' else stops collapsin' on us.

An' that'll prob'ly end up bein' anywhere outside 'f Domino. Cause that's how this sort 'f place is.

[identity profile] normalnnameless.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
...

Yeah.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder whose ancestors you pissed off.

[identity profile] thefifthmonarch.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Outside of Domino. Which again. Is why I wait for the other shoe to drop elsewhere.

[identity profile] 3-s33s-what.livejournal.com 2010-05-28 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
'least it won't be anythin' y'have t' worry 'bout, 'less if y'travel 'round th' world 'r somethin'.
